Virtual Dietitian for Eating Disorder Recovery
A registered dietitian can support eating disorder recovery and help you rebuild a peaceful, non-restrictive relationship with food using a compassionate, weight-inclusive, intuitive-eating approach. EM Nutrition offers virtual, judgment-free recovery support nationwide, and many sessions are covered by insurance.
Please note: nutrition counseling is one part of eating disorder care. For active or medically serious eating disorders, we work alongside your therapist and medical team. If you are in crisis, please reach out to the National Alliance for Eating Disorders helpline or your care provider.
Our eating disorder specialists
Three of our registered dietitians specialize in eating disorder and disordered-eating recovery: Ally Rosen, Aliya Nhaisi, and Rebecca Berg. All three are trained in weight-inclusive, non-diet care and can be matched to you based on your needs and availability.
How does a dietitian support eating disorder recovery?
Recovery is about far more than food; it is about rebuilding trust with your body and letting go of food rules, guilt, and restriction. A dietitian trained in eating disorders and intuitive eating helps you normalize eating, challenge diet-culture thinking, and develop a relationship with food that feels calm and sustainable. Our approach is non-diet and weight-inclusive, with no meal plans built around shrinking yourself, and no shame.
What working with us looks like
You will meet one-on-one with a registered dietitian over secure video, at a pace that feels safe. We meet you where you are, coordinate with your therapist and medical team when appropriate, and focus on steady, compassionate progress, reducing food guilt, expanding food freedom, and improving body image. Many clients come to us after years of dieting or after working with other providers and finally feel understood.
Is eating disorder nutrition counseling covered by insurance?
Often, yes. Eating disorder and disordered-eating care frequently qualifies as medical nutrition therapy and is covered by many plans, including UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Aetna, sometimes fully. We verify benefits before you begin, offer superbills if out of network, and accept FSA and HSA cards. Book a free 15-minute consultation to get matched with the right dietitian for you.
